Wednesday, October 13, 2010, 7:00 p.m., “Forcing Bulbs for Winter Bloom”

tulip.jpgPresented by Margie Womack

Forcing spring blooming bulbs to bloom before their time is a skill, an art, a craft. The skill lies in layering bulbs in their pot so they will all bloom at nearly the same time, the art is in the choice and combination of the bulbs, and the craft is in timing and handling of the planted bulbs to bring them into bloom. Margie taught this skill to the children of the HAS Children’s Garden program in the late 90’s and she will show us how to do it in her program. She invites you to bring your children (or borrow some) for this fun and free presentation.
