HAS’ newest garden will be for the enjoyment of children and their families who visit Monument Valley Park. A small, underutilized area between the HAS Demonstration Garden and the historic Caretaker’s Cottage will be the location for the HAS Children’s Garden.
With the help of a generous grant from Colorado Garden Foundations, work began in March 2019 for a number of additions to the area that will become the Children’s Garden including whimsical metal fencing, pollinators’ house, pathway, and low stone walls. Small planting beds will display a Colorado garden, veggie & herb garden, pollinator garden, and texture/color garden. With the help of a grant from Friends of Extension, informational signage will complete the garden.
You are cordially invited to share in the establishment of the Children’s Garden with your donation of funds in any amount. On-site donor recognition is available at the following levels:
$100-$249 The Wetlands, $250-$499 The Grasslands, $500-$999 The Woodlands, $1000+ The Sun, Moon and Stars.
You are invited to see work in progress this summer, attend a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the garden planned for September 9, 2019, and to visit the garden (with or without children) any time free of charge.
