This is an opportunity to hear the details that go into the design, management, and maintenance of pollinator insects’ boxes for a home-garden setting.  The type of nesting materials used will determine which beneficial pollinators will inhabit the “bee hotel”.

The presentation will discuss where to find different nesting materials and will emphasize what is best used to attract and shelter solitary bees. These man-made habitats are meant to be both functional and small works of art in the garden.

Terry and her husband moved to Colorado Springs in 2003. Over the last 15 years, her garden has evolved into a landscape of deer-resistant ground covers and cold hardy succulents. Terry’s first bee hotel was made for her garden in 2014 and their construction and design has been an on-going hobby since that time.
