HAS Looks Forward to 2019

We have some wonderful events, education, and garden projects planned for this year.

This past fall, HAS submitted a request for funding and succeeded in being awarded a substantial grant from the Colorado Garden Foundation. Our project: a children’s garden tucked in between the Demonstration Garden and the Cottage. We’re planning a number of additions to the area including a bench, raised beds, pollinators’ house, paths, and ornamental metal fencing all in a playful, creative format for children and families. The completion date will be Fall 2019.

A second project, if approved by HAS Trustees and City Parks, is a crevice garden inspired by the Garden of the Gods and designed by Zdenek Zvolanek. We’re at the earliest stage of developing a scope of work. If the project goes ahead it will be located in the northeast corner of the Heritage Garden and would be completed in 2020. Plans include having Zdenek on-site for three crucial weeks of construction in the Spring 2020.

Both projects will make significant additions to the HAS gardens and will require significant resources for completion. Several funding sources are being approached and HAS members will also be invited to be part of these projects. Your donations will be critical to the success of these projects. Stay tuned!
