Leslie Holzmann planted her first seeds at age three and took her first pictures at age five. The seeds grew into armfuls of sweet peas—still her favorite flowers, with their heady fragrance—and those early photos, of a month-long trip to Mexico,  are safely tucked into the first of many albums. Growing up with a love of both gardening and photography, it was inevitable that she’d eventually combine these passions into thousands of photos of flowers, as well as birds, other wildlife, and natural landscapes.

As a Colorado Master Gardener from 2001 through 2011, Leslie provided photo resources for the program’s displays, articles, and presentations. You can now find her photos and articles on her gardening and nature blog and on her website, Mountain-Plover.com.
