September 9, 2014: Monthly Lecture – “The Power of Healing Herbs”

Horticultural Art Society is pleased to announce that Tammi Hartung, a well-known Canon City grower and educator, will be will be speaking at the Colorado Technical University campus, on Sept 9th, 4435 N. Chestnut, at 7 pm. She will challenge you to use your garden to improve your life as well as our earth. 

Tammi is the author of several books.  The two listed on her website and possibly for sale at the lecture are “Homegrown Herbs”, a complete guide to growing, using, and enjoying more than 100 herbs,  and her newest book “The Wildlife-Friendly Vegetable Gardener”, how to grow food in harmony with nature.

Desert Canyon Farm is owned by Chris and Tammi Hartung.  The farm has been certified organic since 1996 and strives to be as earth-friendly as possible both in our work and in our personal lives.  They are a United Plant Savers Botanical Plant Sanctuary, a National  Wildlife Federation Sanctuary, and a Xerces Society Pollinator Habitat.
