Many of you remember Larry Vickerman from a few years ago when he was the County Director and Horticulture Agent for El Paso County. Since then he’s done an terrific job overseeing the Chatfield nature preserve of Denver Botanic Gardens. So he knows a thing or two about native plants and bio-diversity. We are pleased to bring him back to town with the question, “What is bio-diversity and why should we worry about it?”

For this special program, start cutting interesting seedheads and flowers and drying them. Bring them and a six-inch pot to this session, and you’ll take home an arrangement as well as help us create one-of-a-kind centerpieces for our annual dinner tables. **Please spray your dried flowers and seedheads with hair spray (cheapest is best).**

Randy Gray will talk to us about weather issues in the southeast Colorado region. He is the Southeast Colorado CoCoRaHS (Community Collaborative Rain, Hail, and Snow Network) Regional Coordinator and is based in the Pueblo National Weather Service office.
